Read The Manual
How many of us today live our lives assuming what our purpose is? Some of us practice/employ a method of trial and error, some go for the highest paying jobs even if they don’t make us happy.
I am reading a book by Rick Warren ‘The Purpose Driven Life’ and he writes ‘the purpose of one’s life is far greater than your own personal fulfillment, your peace of mind, or even your happiness. It’s far greater than your family, your career, or your wildest dreams and ambition. If you want to know why you were placed on this planet, you must begin with God. You were born by his purpose and for his purpose….’ He goes on to say whether you know him or not you were still made for his purpose. It really made me think and I have realized that the statement is true. We spend our time worrying about who our kids are going to be or what careers they should pursue, yet if we would ask God to show us he would.
I am an example of those who used trail and error. After school my family thought I was destined to excel in the Pharmaceutical industry; I had the right connections and nothing would have stopped me, but I left pharmacy to be a hairdresser and I have never looked back. I’ve grown and I’m still growing in the Hair and Beauty industry. I don’t believe I had asked God what my purpose was but I assume its in line with what I am doing.
Have you ever heard of those people who are doing a different deal every time you meet them? I don’t believe it’s easy to walk into our purpose but I think its more unbearable not to. The key is to consult the inventor and His manual. Go on . Ask him – Who knows? You might just get the key to your purpose today!
